DownUnder Merch is an Australian-inspired lifestyle brand that celebrates the country’s landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage through contemporary apparel and accessories. Developed by Berriel Brands, the identity combines authenticity, sophistication, and a modern streetwear aesthetic.
As part of the project, I created two apparel graphic concepts centered around the kangaroo, one of Australia’s most iconic symbols. Each design explores a different visual language while remaining aligned with the brand’s adventurous and premium positioning.
The first concept draws inspiration from the Australian outback, combining geometric compositions, native flora, and subtle references to Aboriginal visual culture through texture and graphic elements. The second takes a more analytical and narrative-driven approach, inspired by vintage maps, field journals, and wildlife documentation, blending geography, fauna, and exploration into a layered visual system.
Together, these concepts demonstrate how illustration can be used to create distinctive apparel graphics that are versatile, commercially viable, and deeply connected to the spirit of Australia.
